Car #6. This is the famous 1946 'Johnny Pawl" #17 Offy. This is the original vehicle used in the vintage comedians' ABBOTT & COSTELLO movie "Buck Privates Come Home". The car has a long and highly recognized history. It was raced coast-to-coast from 1946 on and driven by Duke Nalon, Paul Russo, Ted Duncan, Duke Dinsmore and many other top drivers. In 1946 through '47 the car won a staggering $100,000...a major amount of money for the times! A tape is available with Tony Stewart and Dave Dispain discussing the car at the Las Vegas track. (The car was raced occasionally is the early 2000s in Las Vegas).
This is a truly vintage Offy with Winfield Carburetor and all.
